Crafty Corner

Our oldest received several fun crafty gifts for Christmas. She loves to make jewelry and cards for anyone she crosses paths with. This mommy heart skips a beat or two knowing that she has developed a love for all things crafty and diy. However, it was posing a problem with small beads, needles, rubber bands, and scissors everywhere. I strongly believe that having a place for EVERYTHING can be a bit ocd, but it really does eliminate chaos and unnecessary messes within our home.

So, my sweet girl and I set out on a mission. We "shopped" the house and found some cute crates to use as shelves...then we went to work!

We found several jars throughout the house that weren't really "needed" and used them to organize the glue sticks, beads, scissors, colored pencils, and more.
We've had this up for about a month and I am 100% satisfied with the results. She has her own little place with everything at an arm's reach away.
I found the cute turqoise jar with handle at a yard sale for 50 cents. The golden banner was 15 cents in the Target clearance after Christmas.

When I walked by her area this morning there was a pile of creative thank you cards she had made for those who gave her gifts for her birthday. Love it!
And, old dogs can learn new tricks, because sometimes shoving stuff in bins and hiding them in the closet just makes it never get used. Now, she uses it almost every day---making the imagination and creativity run wild!
